HIPAA Certification via the USC web site

Dear Students,

All students are required to complete HIPAA certification via the USC web site in order to participate in any clinical activities. You will not be allowed to participate in any clinical activity if you have not complied with this requirement. Please follow the directions outlined below to print out your completed HIPAA certificate. If you have not completed the online certification you must click on "New User" at step f) and then click "Guest Self-registration" and complete the program.

Instructions to obtain your HIPAA certificate (from the USC HIPAA program).

Please go to http://www.usc.edu/admin/compliance/ in order to obtain a copy of your HIPAA certificate (from the USC HIPAA program).

1. Click, "Privacy and Security" box


2. Click, "HIPPA Privacy Regulations"


3. Click, "HIPPA Online Education Program"


4. Click, "Continue to HIPPA Education Program"


5. Click, "USC Office of Compliance HIPAA Education Program" If you previously logged into the Compliance HIPAA Education but have forgotten your password:


6. Enter your Login ID (i.e., Student ID)


7. Click "Forgot Password" button above and follow the instructions that will appear


8. Type in your Login ID (i.e., Student ID) and password


9. Click, "Click to continue…"


10. Scroll down the page to click "Print Certificate"


11. Click, "I Agree"


12. Your certificate should appear for you to print it!
